Extravagant Teeth

extravagant teeth render gold jewels impotent
earrings billow with the winds of  profit

changeling toads revere the mud emblems
molded by dissident amphibians of the arch-age

hair piled on bone foundations writhes,
twisted coils mirroring the fate of the fearful

twin buckets of poultry dyed green and set aflame-
another nightmare reduced to a commercial image

wandering plants seek the streets after midnight,
singing hymns and dragging their penitential root-balls

Wellington crossed the Delaware, Washington
whipped Napoleon, Gilgamesh founded Chicago

terrible her eyes beneath a wimple of purple flame
what your heart learns never reaches your feet

"whaddaya? make this shit up?" -No, it's dictated
by an angel with a brittle face and burning breasts
