Cycles

1. Celestial

Ice and heat to vapor, condensations
Dust
and I travel
crossing from point to geometric point
alphaneumeric degrees
quanta of mass
variable equations.

Visualize my trajectory
spilled across dreams
long after I have passed,
a ghost before the term is applied
a breath after lava and ash are memory.

Unable to break galactic boundaries
I am a circular messenger
a repeater of cycles,
but uninterrupted,
like the Arabian concept of zero
elegant mystery spun like clear glass from the desert night
stars scattered in the purple black
puzzling
come to haunt your dreams
and streak white quartz fire
across your firmament,
silent weaver of quandaries.

2. Terrestrial

Held in the earth
born
pulsing chlorophyll, phototropic
I search, hunger and thirst
until biospheric conditions
propel me to bloom
blossom
baffle
then wither back
to the source
and fertilize.
new birth.

I live, diaphanous,
in rich top-soil,
feed - nourish - rot - decompose
in dry heat, baked
in frozen ground, trapped
always losing but ever hoping
for still another
another still-life birth, miraculous.

Yet again

Open my branches to dabble
in cool spring breezes,
the promise of eternity in summer's haunches
leap-dancing, whispering music.
Rivers overflow and drown me
and gradually I am dust
borne away in thermal waves
lifted beyond the synapse memory of flowers
dust
ice and heat to vapor, condensations
and
I
travel.
