Dancing Bear
Aubade

"Yeah, I left a few things up there I'd like to get back."
--Neil Armstrong, 30 anniversary of the first lunar
landing, when asked if he's wanted to ever go back to
              the moon.

it is too late
to go back

    like Armstrong
I too have left my shadow
on a moon
your moon
        your concrete moon
one night of reaching
this hand
touch your starry tears
held the whiteness
of dust
your love
in my fingers
    slowly falling back

even in this night
the moon always knows
    where dawn is
that blue shoulder
I would give my green love
sing you one more lullaby
as that satellite crosses stars
before light
