Alon Lischinsky

Weary

Unseen dark water
Birch-tree shapes etched in shadow
Crows shade the dun grass

A mossy twig falls,
Makes ripples on a shallow pool
Wet bells in dim woods

Wanton lilies, pale
Folds of sorcery shining
Iridescent spells

A nut, a root, shards
Of withered oakwood creak
With midnight rumbles

Overhead darkens
A dome of tattered cotton
Screams and fades at last
